Dental Exams
Regular visit for dental examination are essential because they allow Dr. Willett to deal with dental issues in their early stages, and to single out the problems, which might occur. For most of the people a visit every six months is essential but cases may vary according to your conditions.
Why dental exams are necessary?
Dental issues have a tendency to get poorer when left untouched. A regular visit to Dr. Willett will assure that small problems won’t become major issues. For example a tooth decay left unattended has the tendency to cause more damage to the tooth and chances of saving the original tooth are very low. Regular dental exam and cleaning can help you save a lot as it is cost effective in comparison with teeth repair and replacement. Routine based exams help in detecting the root cause of severe oral issues.
Processes of routine dental examination?
Depending on your conditions an examination and cleaning is scheduled. Teeth are cleaned thoroughly by a dental hygienist. Then the x-rays are review by Dr. Willett and if required new x-rays are taken. A through visual inspection of the inside of your mouth will be done and instruments like a long handled mirror and a dental explorer might be used depending upon your conditions. Firm and pink gums will prove all is healthy and there are no sign of any rough, discolored or any soft teeth. Depending on your condition Dr. Willett will recommend a treatment and may take notes according to issues which require an observation on the next visit.
How habitual the examination should be?
Most adults need to visit every six months. Regular visits are recommended by Dr. Willett if your mouth is prone to buildup, gum disease, tartar and tooth decay.
