PiezoUltrasonic Scaler
An alternative to scaling (scraping) during dental cleanings, the PiezoScalerremoves tartar build-up on teeth. As the vibrations remove the tartar, a water stream washes away any debris. This method eliminates more biofilm (microbes) than hand scaling, can be used to deliver medications directly to problem areas, and for many patients is more comfortable and faster than traditional scaling. Piezo Scaling can be a better option for people with lung, heart disease, and diabetics
Mandibular repositioning appliances
(Snoring or apnea appliances) For patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea and who aren’t satisfied using a CPAP, these devicescan be a more comfortable alternative to keeping the airway open during sleep. Dr. Willett is the only dentist in Columbia using sound waves and breathing techniques to help screen for sleep disorders and predict the success of using these appliances.
